AGENCY – Manchester United have registered a wide victory over Liverpool in a pre-season friendly. United won the match 4-0 at the Rajamangala ground in Bangkok, Thailand.

United took a 3-0 lead in the first half and added another goal in the second half. Jadon Sancho gave United an early lead in the 12th minute. Bruno Fernandez’s pass was not cleared by the Liverpool defense and Sancho scored.

United doubled their lead in the 30th minute through a goal from midfielder Fred. Fred scored with excellent coordination with Anthony Marseille. Brazilian goalkeeper Alison did not get a chance to stop his chip shot from just outside the penalty area.

Three minutes later, Marseille took a 3-0 lead. He scored just minutes after Liverpool converted 10 players. For United, Marseille snatched the ball and headed in a counter-attack as he chipped in goalkeeper Alison in a one-on-one situation.

In the 76th minute of the second half, Facundo Palestri gave United a 4-0 lead. In the counter-attack started by Eric Bailey, the goal was made possible by the coordination of Amad Diallo and Palestri. Palestri scored with three United players against the goalkeeper in the penalty area.

United even excelled in the first game under coach Eric Ten Hag. United, who played very fast football, also gave young players a chance. Despite the absence of star forward Cristiano Ronaldo, United’s performance was commendable.

However, Liverpool created opportunities in some attacks but could not return the goal. Mohamed Salah’s strike hit the post when new forward Darwin Nunez wasted a beautiful opportunity. Liverpool used more than two dozen players during the game.
