Agency – Polish star striker Robert Lewandowski has admitted that he came to Barcelona to win the Ballon d’Or. During an interview, Lewandowski admitted that he came to Barcelona to win the Ballon d’Or.

During an interview for Przeglad Sportowy, Lewandowski said it would be easier to win the Ballon d’Or from Barcelona than from Bayern Munich. In that sequence, he presented the example of many Barcelona players winning the Ballon d’Or.

“It’s not that I didn’t lose sleep because I didn’t win the Ballon d’Or. But I think the road to winning the Ballon d’Or from Barcelona is shorter than from Bayern. Barcelona players have won it many times. Maybe that’s why I feel this way,” said Lewandowski.

Lewandowski arrived at Barcelona this season from German champions Bayern Munich. Despite his consistently high performances at Bayern, he was yet to win the Ballon d’Or.

He had a career-high performance for Bayern in the 2019-2020 season. That year he scored 55 goals in 48 games. His high performance saw Bayern win the Champions League. The Ballon d’Or was postponed that year.

Similarly, he had a high performance in the 2020-2021 season. But in that season, Lionel Messi surpassed him and won the seventh Ballon d’Or of his career.
